My friend Ari
August 27, 2007
I was looking through some of my photos from last year, and came across these two of my friend Ari. I took these last summer, shortly after I met his mom through FreeCycle. I’m pretty sure these two images never saw the light of day, probably because they got lost among the 3,256 I’ve taken of this family in the last year…

aw! dads and kids are so so cute. love the wild playfulness of the first one, the precious wonder of the second. you’ve got such a lovely eye for this art you do.

I totally dig the “mirror image” aspect of the first one. Sure, papa is bigger than kiddo, but they have this similar expression. gets at that weird connection we have with our parental folks. like it or not.
the range of shades in the second one is lovely. i also like the way he is contemplating the ground, or is it his foot? detail on the stairs is awesomeness.

AW! Thank you for unearthing these. I remember the day you took these very well. I can’t believe you have taken 3,256 pictures of us!

Redmomma—yeah, neither could I! Can’t blame me though, can you? You have a gorgeous family!
And by the way, that doesn’t even include our first photo session together…
